IMPORTANT BUS INFORMATION - PLEASE READ

As of April 21, 2025, seatbelt use is mandatory for all passengers on seatbelt-equipped charter motorcoaches operating in New York State

Some key details to remember about the New York seat belt laws are:

  • All drivers and passengers are required to wear a seat belt (when so equipped) while the vehicle is in operation
  • All passengers under the age of 8 must be restrained in a Federally approved child restraint system (child safety seat or booster seat, as appropriate to the age and size of the child)
  • Non-compliance with this law can result in a citation to the passenger (or parent or guardian if the passenger is under 16 years of age), with fines ranging from $25 – $100
